Marriage Equality Counselling and Support
With the support of the ACT Government Office of LGBTIQ Affairs, the AIDS Action Council is providing counselling and support services during the Australian Marriage Equality Postal Survey.
Additional face-to-face, telephone and online counselling is available throughout the survey process and following the announcement of results.
Marriage equality is an important step towards reducing the disadvantage, discrimination and distress experienced by LGBTIQ people and their families and allies. Support is essential for promoting the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ people and communities. Better social outcomes result better health outcomes, including helping educating people about HIV, reducing HIV stigma and preventing further transmission of HIV.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, angry, judged, sad, disappointed, or just want someone to talk, please call the Council on 6257 2855 during business hours. We are here for you, your wellbeing matters.
