The AIDS Action Council in conjunction with COTA and the LGBTIQ Ministerial Advisory Committee are holding a workshop for people interested in the aged care sector and in gaining a better understanding of the needs of the older lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community members. The workshop covers a historical perspective and explains the current legal and human rights situation for the LGBTIQ community.
This workshop will be relevant for anyone interested in aged care, implementation of the National Initiatives and how inclusive practice and a Person Directed Care framework can benefit everyone.
These free informative and interactive workshop will to promote a better understanding of the needs of ageing LGBTIQ people and how to meet them.
This workshop can assist services meet the priorities for the National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) Ageing and Aged Care Strategy.
In the ACT, these National workshops are delivered as a partnership between lead agency The AIDS Action Council, COTA, Northside Community Service & the LGBTIQ Ministerial Advisory Council.
